We had a really beautifully presented stay at But 'N' Ben Villa. the cottage was quaint and welcoming, with lots of helpful little touches like torches and books. the location was perfect, with all attractions and the beach just a stone's throw away. the kitchen was incredibly well equipped, even better than my own house, and the shower was lovely. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the square where the cottage is located was extremely peaceful. the nearby chippy and fishmonger were both amazing. the beds were extremely comfy, and falling asleep to the sound of seagulls was a highlight. the top bedroom, although a bit of a climb, was great fun.
Nothing not to love! 😊

The decoration of the hotel was absolutely charming, with a cozy and traditional feel that made me feel right at home. The general areas were well-maintained and had a warm ambiance. As a senior woman, I appreciated that the hotel had easy accessibility, with no steep stairs or difficult pathways that would make it challenging for me to get around.
I would only ask for a better vacation experience for senior people if there were more assistance available from the children working there to help carry luggage or provide extra support when needed.

We had the best rest ever at But 'N' Ben. The beds were extremely comfy and the seagulls singing us to sleep was a lovely touch. The location of the cottage was 5 star and we loved the micropub within the station. Plus, the added bonus of the steam train running from Whitby was exciting, especially catching it with the local school children. The cottage itself was beautifully presented and the kitchen was incredibly well equipped. The shower was also lovely and the helpful little touches like torches and books were appreciated. The square where the cottage is located is extremely peaceful and the nearby harbor car park was convenient. The cottage is also perfectly situated close to all the attractions, the beach, and the shops. I highly recommend this hotel.

The decoration at But 'N' Ben was simply delightful, bringing back memories of my grandmother's cozy cottage. The floral wallpaper and the vintage furniture created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The common areas were well-maintained and had comfortable seating, making it easy for us to relax and chat with other guests. As a senior woman, I appreciated that the hotel had ramps and handrails throughout, making it easily accessible for me and my friends. It was wonderful to be able to navigate the hotel without any difficulty.
The only thing I would have asked for a better vacation for senior people is a bit more assistance from the children working there. While they were pleasant, they seemed busy and sometimes unable to help us with our luggage or provide guidance on local attractions.

There were some negative aspects to our stay. The cleanliness of the cottage was a major letdown.

The lovely cottage was beautifully decorated with cozy furnishings and charming decor. It had comfortable seating areas where us seniors could relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The hotel's accessibility was excellent, with easy access to the main attractions and amenities, making it convenient for us older guests.
A better vacation for senior people would be enhanced if the children working there could provide more assistance with carrying luggage or offering any necessary support throughout our stay.

My recent stay at But 'N' Ben in Whitby was truly delightful. The cottage was beautifully presented and exuded a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The kitchen was equipped with everything I needed, and the shower was simply lovely. The location couldn't have been better - right in the heart of everything, yet peaceful. The chippy opposite was a highlight, and the fishmonger was fantastic too. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the seagulls singing me to sleep was a unique experience. The cottage had lots of little touches that made my stay even more enjoyable, like torches for the night and a great selection of books. And best of all, everything was spotlessly clean. I highly recommend But 'N' Ben for a wonderful and memorable stay in beautiful Whitby.

I absolutely adored the rustic charm of the cottage's decor. From the cozy fireplace to the quaint furnishings, it felt like stepping back in time. The overall ambiance was very cozy and inviting. As a senior, I also appreciated how accessible the hotel was. There were no long flights of stairs to climb and everything was conveniently located on the ground floor.
I would have loved to see more attention given to the needs of senior guests. Perhaps some handrails along the hallways or in the bathrooms would have been helpful.
